Dr Caroline Dowling is the Director of Urology at Eastern Health, a growing network in the east of Melbourne, Australia. After completing her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Urology, Caroline undertook a sub-specialty fellowship at The Royal Melbourne Hospital in Neuro-urology and Continence, developing expertise in urodynamics, clinical assessment and operative and medical management of patients with complex incontinence and pelvic floor disorders and completed a fellowship year in the Department of Urogynaecology at Monash Health.
She has a career interest in both simple and video urodynamic studies and diagnosis and the surgical management of incontinence and prolapse. She is passionate about shared decision making in the treatment of prolapse and incontinence. She has taught at an undergraduate and graduate level and holds a Senior Lecturer position at Monash University. She has co-authored book chapters and several journal publications.
She was awarded a scholarship to complete a leadership program in 2017 with Women’s Leadership Australia and went on the complete a Master of Leadership with the Faculty of Education at Monash University in 2019. She represented the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ) on the Senate Inquiry into Transvaginal Mesh in 2017. She has a private practice based in Malvern and Box Hill.
